Instagram.com from a mobile browser:

  • Instagram.com can be accessed using a mobile browser. You can’t temporarily disable your Instagram account in the app.
  • Tap your profile image in the lower right corner, then Profile, and then Edit Profile.
  • Tap, and Temporarily disable my account in the lower right corner
  • Why are you disabling your account? Select an item from the drop-down menu. and enter your password again. After you’ve picked a reason from the menu and entered your password, you’ll have the option to disable your account.

If you don’t want to disable your account but want to manage who may view your postings, you can make them private or block specific people.
